The full season's fixture list is out now. See the Fixtures for season 98-99 page for more information. K's kick
off with Hereford at home and then travel to Yeovil for the next game. The derby game against Woking will be on Boxing Day and we have also drawn Farnborough in the League (Spalding) Cup.
Friday 3rd July More friendly news. Chapple is arranging one more friendly before the season starts. And this will be against The Kuwait national team. They are
due to come to Kingsmeadow on August 11th but this is still to be confirmed, as it may move to the 10th. Also on the friendly side of things, the Colchester game has been brought forward to a 1:30 kick-off and Wimbledon have promised to bring a "full strength premiership side" to Kingsmeadow
for their game.
Players are to report back for training on Tuesday, and the club have arranged to use the Athletics stadium for training over the coming season.
The fixtures for the Conference are due out on Monday. We'll put them up as soon as we can.
Wednesday 1st July K's were on London Tonight last night over the sacked secretary case. The Club have lost the case and are forced to
pay 10,000 damages for loss of earnings. "A professionally run football club"?
See the article from the Daily Telegraph for more information.
Tuesday 30th June K's new coach has been officially announced and we can reveal he is Ian McDonald who
up until yesterday was contracted at Portsmouth FC. The ex-Aldershot manager "can only be good for Kingstonian" said Chapple.
This is how The Surrey Comet reports the
Ambitious K's Snap Up Top Coach story.
Chapple is still looking for new players, particularly a new goalkeeper, and maybe a new forward.
The repairing of the ground following the graffitti attack has nearly been completed, just the brickwork remains to be cleaned up. The dogs and handler are now on patrol at night.
K's have got into The Sun again, and probably a number of other newspapers, with the Sacked Secretary story under the title "GIRL AXED OVER DI 'A NUT'"
Monday 29th June Chris Kelly and another director appeared on
TV this afternoon outside Kingston County Court regarding the
sexual discrimation charges against the Club by a former employee which got onto the Front Page of The Sun some time back.
Expect this story to reappear on the Local news this
evening, and check out both the local Ceefax and local Teletext.
Many thanks to Catherine Cole and The Doc for the following information.

The Club have no plans to segregate fans at home games, unless otherwise instructed by the F.A.
On the graffitti issue comes the news that police are almost entirely certain who was to blame for the vandalism. Indeed, one of those allegedly involved was already on Police Bail at the time. From an Insurance view-point, the Club will only lose their 200 policy excess, but it's the labour
charges and stress involved that could be done without.
Thanks once again to The Doc.
Friday 26th June - The K's Site will be down for approximately 12 hours tomorrow whilst xoom upgrades itself and
(hopefully) sorts out the little problems that have been experienced recently.
K's Web has heard from a reliable source that K's have re-signed Neville Roach from Reading. Neville
had a brief but successful time at Kingsmeadow in the first few months of the year, and will be a welcome fixture in the K's Conference Team. Andy
Freeman has also been released by Reading on a free transfer, and may join Neville in the move.
Wednesday 24th June - In the early hours of Friday morning last week Kingsmeadow Stadium was vandalised again. Graffitti has been
drawn over "every available space" in the ground such as advertising boards, the stands and brickwork. The police are very much involved in the matter and have been taking extensive photos of
the scene but unfortuantely between 4000 to 5000 of damage has been caused. This has led to the step of security at Kingsmeadow having to be brought in and now there will be Security Guards on patrol at night along with
their Alsatian dogs. An appeal for financial aid from the Football Trust for help in this matter has been refused.
On a more positive note, Chapple has revealed that, although the new coach cannot be named, he is already a part of the running of the club and the planning for the forthcoming season.
Tuesday 23rd June - Be sure to check out the latest on the K's Cheer Leaders situation.
Lenny Dennis' move to Gravesend was on a free transfer. Good bye Len, and Good luck.
Following Slough's awful misfortune, it now looks as though Farnborough Town may also be in trouble. Nigel Long has supplied the latest on Farnborough
Town
Monday 22th June - The latest news on Slough Town has been given to us from Ant. It makes interesting reading...
Lenny Dennis has signed for Gravesend and Northfleet. The transfer fee is undisclosed as yet but you can be sure
it's less than was paid by K's to Welling for him.
Next season's fixtures will be 'published' on the 6th of July. We await it with baited breath...
Friday 19th June - Apparently, K's are to be "the only club in the Conference next year to have a cheer-leading team." That is from this week's Local Guardian and
apparently they are looking to recruit more members for the team. So if you're interested then you know who to contact - not us!
Wednesday 17th June - It has emerged, according to a reliable source in the Slough ranks, that Kingstonian
were the one conference club in the immediate vicinity to vote for Slough's expulsion. That is quite shameful if it is true. Hopefully, it can be fully justified, but it's doubtful.
See
Ant's Woking Site for more information on this.
Tuesday 16th June - Terry Westley, the hot favourite to take over the vacant coaching poistion at Kingsmeadow, has officially resigned from Charlton. It may only be a matter of days until he is on
his way to Kingston now...
Monday 15th June - Geoff Chapple has been named as Ryman Manager of The Year. He received this accolade at the Ryman League Annual Dinner that was attended the
week-end before last, and said "It was very nice to get the award. It's the icing on the cake. It is the second time I have won it and it is very special"
Chapple has also confirmed that Kingstonian will be re-entering the Suburban League next season. K's did not field a second team last season in an effort to reduce costs "It was the right decision," said Chapple, "because we achieved what we wanted to achieve"
but Chapple has always been in favour of a reserve team: "It will be very useful for players coming back from injury because it will give them match practice. We can also use the side to look at youngsters who need a step up from the youth team"
Players have been asked to report back for training on July 7th in time to have a weeks preparation before the Chelsea game.
Thursday 11th June - The absurdety of the conference second division continues. Only one team will be promoted into the Conference first division at the
end of the coming season. The winners of the three feeder leagues will play each other in a play off with only the winner of that achieving promotion with the other two going into the newly formed second division.
Surely time for a rethink?
Wednesday 10th June - Following the news that there is to be a Conference second division starting in season '99/'00,
is the news that only one team will be relegated from the Conference this year, into next years second division.
